Edition 1 of 3 + 1AP This photographic diptych was taken during my last trip home to Mexico in Summer of 2023. The artwork shows a recognizable sight in countries of Latin America and the Global South: broken glass bottles perched atop walls surrounding homes to deter break-ins and trespassing – an ad hoc method with the utility of barbed wire. When I immigrated to Canada as a kid I kept looking for the glass on the walls and was confused as to why there was no need for this security method in my new environment. Upon returning to Mexico, I kept photographing these walls and sight that had stayed with me since I was a kid.
